The Saudi authorities have allowed partial relaxation in curfew but denied permission to open the Indian Passport and Visa Application Centers run by VFS Global in various cities across the Kingdom. Hence the Indian Passport and Visa Application Centers will remain closed for now.
In order to serve the citizens who are in urgent need of passport or other passport-related services, the Indian Embassy in Riyadh will be accepting applications directly from 5 May 2020. To avoid crowding at all times and to follow the social distancing, certain measures have been taken for the health and safety of the applicants and the staff. All applicants may accordingly note the following:
1 — Prior appointment for submission of application for passport and other passport-related services is mandatory. Applicants without confirmed appointment shall not be entertained.
2 — The appointment can be sought through call center (Tel No. 920006139) during 10 am to 4 pm from Sunday to Thursday or by email firstname.lastname@example.org . The call center will start functioning from 4 May, 2020.
3 — Nobody except the applicant shall be allowed. Hence only the applicant with confirmed appointment should visit the Embassy at designated time as given in the appointment. The timing for application submission and collection in the Embassy is 10 am to 2 pm from Sunday to Thursday.
4 — No applicant without a mask will be allowed.
5 — Applications for re-issue of passports which have expired or due to expire before 30 June shall be given priority in appointments.
6 — For applicants not falling under the above criteria may write to Embassy at email@example.com explaining the urgency along with the required documents. They will be considered on case to case basis.
